Way to go Randy!
I couldn't have said it better. Until we get rid of the career politicians there is nothing we can do. Until we break the grip of the political elite we will not regain our country.
That is right....they are politicians 1st!
Any campaign promise or belief that a candidate will act in our best interest is a joke!
Each party knows the benefits of the FT I am sure! When I speak to my rep and my old Senator, they give lame excuses…
> When the Republicans had both houses of Congress and Bush in the white house why didn't they grab the FairTax bill. They even got so far as to have a commission to study tax reform. That commission wouldn't even give the FairTax a read. I'm sorry…
But I see it as the Repub's will always be like the Dem's because they all are Politicians FIRST and they have too many lobbyists who will line their pockets.
They are CAREER POLITICIANS who have forgotten WHY they are there and WHO they are suppos…
The repubs need to return to the Reagan conservative ideals. They need to get away from the dems and show that they are NOT the same. They need to return to fmr Speaker Gingrich's "contract w/ America". Then, and only then, will I again call myself…
Democratic party leadership has already asked for tax reform identical to the FairTax back in 2004.
The fact they demanded it and then dropped it once they got in the majority just goes to show how broken the parties are.
Ask those Republicans run…

My NEW…
All,
Sorry to have changed the subject a little.
Keeping the Republic intact should be of concern to everyone in this country.

As stated by Bob Moore there is no…

Gale,
I have to agree with you overall, I'm just not sure how we get back to the starting point - as much as I would like to get there.
I am not opposed to a "big bang" kind of thing, just as long it leaves the Republic intact.
Wow, what a great thread.
The FairTax issue should remain non-partisan. Taxes are paid by everyone and everyone "should be" concerned about them.
Whenever I speak with anyone about taxes they all (unless completely Liberal) say that they are tired…
I spoke wit ha democrat today at my store. She overheard me and another customer talking about how our congressman has been in office too long and that he will not sponsor the Fair Tax (he is rep by the way).
She said that we should have term limits…
